Kafu (which means Happiness in Okinawan) is a non-profit dog shelter founded in 2023. Currently the shelter cares for around 35 dogs. The rescued animals come from all walks of life, some are relinquished by their owners, some are rescued from being gassed at the local animal control center, and some are strays who were abandoned. Regardless of how they end up at the shelter, Kafu provides a safe haven where the animals receive love and care and get a second chance at life.
